Our history
Originally from the Ombersley area of Worcester, the Green family moved to Rook Row Farm over and started production in 1954. Initially the farm was tenanted, owned by the Duchy of Cornwall until 1994 when the 18.21ha farm was bought by Albert Green.

A S Green and Co evolved when Andrew Green took over running the business from his father. With generations of farmers behind him, Andrew brings a wealth of experience to the business. This knowledge allows us to consistently produce the highest quality product, no matter what the season throws in our way. His wife Caroline then came to join the business after finishing a degree in agricultural science.

As a business we felt that we needed to get the best out of the product. In 2005, with the aid of a Rural Development Grant, a packhouse was built at Rook Row Farm. The packing area allows us to maximise the crop by sorting and packing our own product and the fridge enhances freshness and quality. Produce is picked and brought from field to fridge regularly throughout the day to maintain freshness and quality.

With the aid of funding from the Rural Development Scheme and further funding was received in 2017 to purchase a packing machine.
In 2018 we expanded one of our packing rooms, this has allowed us to have one more packing machine to make the business more productive, to keep up with demand from supermarkets and the wholesale market. We expanded our fridge area in 2019, to allow for more customer orders. |
